Artist – Bio 2012
Shady Lane returns with a new single Dumb Hope, an exciting introduction into the work of his newest collection. Shady Lane brought us his stunning debut ‘Here We Go Down The Black Hole’ in 2009, with tracks such as Galileo and Absolute Truth. The record firmly placed Shady Lane as an important new Australian artist. It has been a long while since Shady Lane had written an ode of any kind. Built Guilt is an ode of sorts, and the first single Dumb Hope is explained by Shady Lane as a song about feeling useless and stupid, only to realise that it doesn’t really matter as we all disappear someday along with all of our troubles, which is something to be hopeful for. Shady Lane has come together with help of good friends and now band mates Peter J Avard on Drums, Sarah Jullienne on keyboard and Mark Piccles on bass. The new tracks were joyously recorded at A Sharp Studio and Richard Cartwright’s (Richard In Your Mind) home studio.

About The Release
The culmination of a project which began late in 2004, Here We Go… was almost all recorded and self-produced from Jordy’s various homes as he moved around Sydney’s inner-West. It’s this bedroom-fidelity that allowed him to so effectively capture and reproduce the dreamy, contemplative and occasionally abstract moods you can only arrive at in your own space and time. With occasional backing vocals from Sarah Kelly (on ‘Galileo’) and Kaity Fox (on ‘Oh My God’), and cello from Ella Colley (on ‘This Is Death’ and ‘Oh My God Again’), the majority of the album is just Jordy, his pensive mind, his captivating voice and his computer.
