And you think you are busy!
Richard In Your Mind are back already with a new record and new live show which they are touring this September.
Following up on their 2010 album My Volcano is certainly a hard ask, My Volcano gained Richard In Your Mind an AMP nomination and more importantly loving appreciation from more people than ever before.
Yet nothing is beyond Richard In Your Mind and SUN, their 2011 release, may indeed be the band’s most cohesive and beautiful album yet.
As a band who naturally and continuously write and record, while on tour last year, Richard In Your Mind began writing SUN and because it’s what they do best, Richard In Your Mind have produced this stunning album in under one year.
In celebration of this new record Richard In Your Mind are hitting the road to tour the record live and are extremely excited to be accompanied by two of Australia’s finest groups around today – The Laurels and Fishing.
The Laurels released their debut EP ‘Mesozoic’ in July to some serious acclaim – The Age awarded it four stars and declared The Laurels to be “one of the most compelling bands around right now.”
Sydney-based production duo Fishing have already scored supports with Cloud Control and Jonothan Boulet just to name a few and now Fishing are taking their dexterous beat-tweaking live show to impress audiences further on this exciting tour!

It has not been long since Richard In Your Mind released their praised, 2010 AMP nominated album My Volcano but they’re already back and with some amazing new music.
A few years ago, Richard In Your Mind decided they would cover, in chronological order, the entire Beatles catalogue. Impossible, you say? Well, the band admits there’s a chance they’ll be 64 by the time they record their version of When I’m 64.
But that’s fine by us and we think it will be fine by you too once you hear their first offerings: ‘Please Please Me’ and ‘Love Me Do’, two tracks taken from The Beatles’ debut record Please Please Me.
Please Please Me is a dirty garage rocky kind of punkish beauty and Love Me Do sees Richard doing his best Perry Farrel impression over a slowed down Beatles classic, with added banjo. You will have the pleasure of these tracks once they hit the radio airwaves in a few days, we want all you Splendour kids to come back down to earth first.
HOLD UP THOUGH! Don’t move on so fast, that’s not all we have for you. Indeed these songs are our messenger pigeons, set free to let the people in the next village know Richard In Your Mind have been busy and also have a new album coming up and national tour. Stay tuned for more on that very soon.

Solo artist. Son of Antonio Giacomelli Benét, the famous Italian accordionist who made his name recording popular disco songs of the 1970’s.
Antonio called Australia his new home after falling in love with the daughter of an accordion repairer and after eloping to Leichhardt they were soon parents to Donny.
Donny grew up following his father’s footsteps but changed his mind at the age of 15 and began to play the electric bass as he soon realised that nobody wanted to hear disco accordion anymore. Donny still plays accordion for the old people at the Scalabrini Retirement village but for the moment is focusing on getting a residency in one of the top Las Vegas hotel lobby bars and one day becoming a television personality.
2011 has heralded the new era of Donny Benét. Due to the apparent lack of interest in disco accordian and Jazz bass playing Donny has taken the plunge and recorded his debut album in the famous Donny Land Studios. Armed with a Drum Machine, Fender Rhodes and a Moog Synthesizer with a pitch bender that won’t stop, Donny has worked hard to create an album that will hopefully make him the most famous disco accordian/jazz bassist of the 21st century.
Don’t Hold Back is out July 8.

After a string of sold-out Australian shows and then an incredibly successful UK tour, SEEKAE finally answer the call of their Australian fans and return home to play Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth this August.
Earlier this year, SEEKAE released their long-awaited second album +Dome to national and international acclaim. On release of +Dome, SEEKAE became one of the most blogged about bands in the world, next to The National and TV on the Radio, as noted by The Independent.
In a 4-star review The Herald Sun asserted “+Dome is the kind of intelligent dance music that transcends everything before and everything after it.” Inthemix.com.au described +Dome as a display of “genuine artistic exploration and crazy versatility; from upbeat tracks with house pianos and organs, to choppy, industrial electronic sounds, Seekae’s adventurous production is boundary-pushing and unconventional.”
UK media met +Dome with equal gusto, XYZ Magazine declaring “Seekae do for ambient Electronica what Mylo’s Destroy Rock & Roll did for Dance…” and Inverted Audio stating “From the outset, +Dome depicts a far more ambitious vision of the future than any other Australian act has ever attempted…”
In the UK SEEKAE’s live shows were equally well received, one reviewer describing how SEEKAE had “the entire venue under their spell…as the show draws to a close, the audience look energized, as if having had the best therapy session of their lives.”
So far, 2011 has been BIG for SEEKAE and there’s certainly much more to come. Get your tickets now for SEEKAE’S homecoming and don’t hesitate because they won’t be home for long, next they’re off to visit their fans in Japan and the US.
