Summer Flake releases 'Nothing Lasts Forever' EP

The new Summer Flake EP, ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’, is out now!

Over the past decade Naarm/ Melbourne's Summer Flake has flourished from hazy lo-fi solo project to today’s optimal indie-rock trio format with Steph Crase (Batrider), Joel Carey (Peak Twins) and Perry Mahoney (The Shifters). Following four albums and three EP’s, the new five-track offering ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’ bursts with glowing guitars, dynamic rhythms and lush layered vocals, masterfully recorded by Paul Maybury in Fairfield VIC.

The EP's opening tracks ‘New Day’ and ‘What’s On The Other Side’ ruminate on the soft paranoia of what's beyond the bedroom door, before track three ‘Bury The Lede’ veers from tentative group-chant singalong into propulsive autumnal rock. Next up, the aching dream-pop cadence of the title-track, ‘Nothing Lasts Forever’, conjures the empty beach of Chris Isaak’s ‘Wicked Game’, and nods towards Yo La Tengo and Julee Cruise.
